Dr. Alexandra Segal

Dr. Alexandra Segal, C. Psych. completed her B.A. in Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley and went on to complete her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in New York, NY.  Dr. Segal is registered for practice in both Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

During her studies she had the opportunity to work at the Parnes psychology Clinic where she received training in obesity related behavioural issues. In addition to utilizing empirical evidence to manage eating disorders, she provided ongoing psychotherapy targeted at exploring trauma and alleviating psychiatric symptoms.  Since moving to Ottawa, Dr. Segal has been working at Bruyère Continuing Care where she is the Professional Leader of the Psychology Department. In addition, she provides clinical neuropsychology and clinical psychology services. She also provided clinical psychology services, education, and consultation to the inpatient Bariatric program at St. Vincent Hospital.

Dr. Segal is available to provide assessment and treatment on issues such as body image, self-esteem, mood disturbances, stress management, relationships and chronic illness. This helps people with areas of their lives that can have a significant impact on lifestyle and weight.
